Dr. Kory Pohlman
CEO & Co-Founder
Dr. Kory J. Pohlman is an Iowa native and currently practicing chiropractic medicine in Clive, Iowa. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Northern Iowa, with a focus on chemistry and a Bio-medical degree. Dr. Pohlman obtained his chiropractic training at the renowned Palmer School of Chiropractic Medicine in Davenport, Iowa. He utilizes his strength and conditioning accreditation (CSCS) in his everyday practice. He has worked with many collegiate and professional athletes and helped lead their rehabilitative program. Dr. Pohlman has also been the lead Chiropractor for the Drake Relays as well as the NCAA track meets. Dr. Pohlman has owned and operated multiple chiropractic clinics throughout his professional career. Dr. Pohlman has had a lot of experience and expertise in the development and execution of fitness programs for the everyday person. This includes rehabilitative as well as preventative programs.

Caeli Esser has been a full-time fitness and wellness professional for over seven years. In addition to being a certified personal trainer she holds over 20 fitness certifications in a diverse array of fitness methods including sports conditioning, functional strength training, yoga, Pilates and youth fitness. She is passionate about helping individuals become happier, more productive and confident people through a real-world approach to fitness and nutrition. She has served as the fitness director of multiple programs and facilities, helped thousands of clients achieve their goals, inspired youth of all ages to get moving and was the owner of a successful wellness business. She shares her holistic approach to health and fitness with the greater Des Moines area as a Juice expert, and frequently conducts trainings for diverse groups ranging from new mothers to physical education teachers. Caeli brings her expertise and experience to the KOSAMA program as the general manager of the corporate site in Clive.
Judd Hawkins, 36, of Mesa, Arizona is the new manager and co-owner of Kosama Tempe/Chandler. Kosama Complete Body Transformation is 8-week program designed to increase lean muscle mass and transform the body from the core out.
Judd recently left his position as the Strength & Conditioning Coordinator for the Oakland Athletics, a position he had held for the last 5 years, in order to bring this one-of-a-kind, exciting new alternative fitness program to the Phoenix area.
Before working for the Athletics, Judd also spent time working in the minor league systems of the Cincinnati Reds and the Kansas City Royals. All in all, Judd has logged 10 years working as a strength and conditioning coach in professional baseball. He is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), as well as the Professional Baseball Strength Coaches Society. Judd is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (C.S.C.S) through the NSCA, which is widely considered as the gold standard for coaching certification in strength and conditioning.
Judd grew up in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and attended college at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa where he studied Athletic Training. He attended graduate school at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa where he was a graduate assistant coach for the baseball team and also taught fitness classes while studying exercise physiology.
Judd has focused his career interests around strength and conditioning because he is passionate about helping people reach their full potential in regards to their health and lifestyle performance.

Through Kosama, I am so excited to be able to help thousands of other people enjoy the same advantages I do. I have loved my time coaching in professional sports, but cannot wait to embark on this next professional experience. I will be utilizing my 10 plus years of coaching experience in the fitness industry in order to bring a positive physical change to anyone looking for alternative ways to achieve their fitness goals.” – Judd Hawkins.
Judd currently resides in Mesa, with his wife Sarah and their 4 month old son Keaton.
Mike Burch was named Drake’s head strength and conditioning coach Aug. 1, 2006, after serving in a similar capacity at Benedictine University in Lisle, Ill., during the 2005-06 season.
Burch was the assistant strength and conditioning coach at Drake from May of 2000 through July of 2002, before being named the head strength and conditioning coach at Minnesota State-Mankato. He became the strength and conditioning coordinator at the Athletic and Therapeutic Institute in Aurora, Ill., in October of 2004 before moving to Benedictine.
Burch earned a bachelor of science degree in biology from Buena Vista University in May of 1997 and received his master’s degree in exercise physiology from Iowa State in December of 2000. He is a certified member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Michael Hill, a native of Fort Dodge, IA has been with Georgetown University Athletic Department for seven years and is currently the Director of Sport Performance. He had previous work in California as a Fitness Manager at 24 Fitness before moving to the Washington, DC area where he has also worked with Episcopal High School in VA, Potomac High School in VA, Catholic University in DC, and Johns Hopkins University in MD. Michael has a B. A. in Health Promotions and a Minor in Coaching from University of Northern Iowa while also holding a M. S. Sports Industry Management from Georgetown University. He currently holds certifications from the CSCCa, NSCA-CSCS, NASM, SAC Level 1, and CPR/AED from the Red Cross.
