"I started Kosama in 2012, just to see what the hype was all about.  I've stayed with Kosama for over 2 years now because of the great cardio and lifting platform it provides me.  I have lost 17 pounds since April 2013 (159-142) and have never felt stronger.  I'm a runner, and I believe strengthening my back and core has been the key to my running success.  Kosama provides a great atmosphere for anyone.  Nobody judges you on what level of exercise you can do.  I fully credit the trainers for the success I've had.  They are so invested in our successs and want to see us grow and be the best we can be.  They are always suggesting alternative moves if you have an injury, reminding you to breathe, and suggesting more weight or the next level of intensity to challenge us.  I personally attend the 5AM class and they have become family to me.  I look forward to my workouts and seeing everyone.  Going to the same class time daily really helps.  It provides accountability when I miss a day because everyone notices and there is nothing worse than the guilt I feel when I say 'I slept in.'  Thank you Kosama!"

"Two years ago a friend convinced me to go to Kosama on a 3 day pass.  I was apprehensive, but at my heaviest (176 lbs.), I needed to start somewhere.  Our first class was at 5:30pm, and I was winded after the warm-up.  Never the less, we survived and finished out the remaining two days.  After regaining the ability to walk, my friend and I decided to sign up for 8 weeks and committed to going at 5am, as it did not interfere with our work or home schedules.

Those firs few weeks were tough.  We kept each other accountable while the Kosama trainers motivated us to push harder.  Kick boxing helped increase my endurance and release aggression, and kettle bells helped me to build muscle and increase strength.  The weeks went by and I noticed my clothes fitting differently and my body changing.  I tried to stay off of the scale.  One of the trainers told me that when building muscle I may not see a difference in the numbers right away, and that can be very discouraging; especially as a woman.

I have always tried to eat healthy, but didn't exercise much, or vice versa.  This time I set realistic goals, and focused on being healthy AND stronger.  No more short cuts.  I was determined to earn the body that I always wanted.  With that I had to make a few changes in the kitchen too, which were neither easy or done overnight.

I attended a few Kosama nutrition seminars and learned about the foods I should eat more and less of.  I am the type of person who, if told that I cannot eat something, I want 3.  I came to the realization that my relationship with food was for enjoyment, boredom and emotional reasons.  Instead of feeling deprived, I simply allowed occasional "treats" in moderation instead of daily.  I made sure that I put in the work afterwards by attending class.  I focus on getting lean proteins, 1-2 servings of vegetables per meal, and little to no noodles or carbs.  Carbs make me feel bogged down and tired after I eat them, and it is something I noticed after I reduced my intake.

Overall, I believe that information about nutrition and a commitment to exercise are the keys to success.  Look at your journey as a long term relationship to do something for you instead of a number or pant size.  After 45 lbs lost, I look back and wonder why I didn't do this for myself years ago.  I love my 5am family, and tell all who are interested what I have learned and the impact it made on my quality of life.  I have energy, confidence and strength.  Thank you Kosama!"

My Kosama journey began in April 2013. A friend of mine had convinced me to give it a try, and I knew after my first workout that it was the place for me. The trainers showed genuine interest in my success, and have pushed me to go further than I thought I could. After suffering a knee injury, I came back to Kosama and the trainers were committed to my growth, while also preventing any further injury. They suggested many alternative moves, so I could continue to get a full workout. I’ve attended literally every class time, with the new 12:15 class being my favorite, as it fits my schedule the best. During the Winter & Spring, I coach volleyball and I’ve noticed a significant difference in my coaching and teaching, due to my Kosama workouts. Since joining Kosama, I’ve lost close 50 pounds, with the goal of losing an additional 90.
